Ductless mini-split installers

A ductless mini-split is a heat pump with an outdoor unit and one or more indoor heads, connected by refrigerant lines, with no ducts. It is the usual retrofit where a house has radiators, baseboard, or no ductwork worth keeping. A ducted heat pump uses the same refrigeration cycle and sends air through ducts.

The Mass Save network file has an equipment field. Contractors who checked “Ductless Air Source Heat Pumps” carry that phrase on their profile under services. The Efficiency Maine locator’s Heat Pumps category includes contractors who showed a heat pump service; the profile lists the services the locator printed for that vendor. NYS Clean Heat’s ASHP installer service covers air-source heat pumps, ducted and ductless, and the profile names the service the finder returned.

We do not publish a ductless installation price. The files we used do not state one. Start with the city pages in Massachusetts, Maine, and New York, and ask for a load calculation. See Manual J and questions to ask.
