Heat pump rebates in Maine
Efficiency Maine rebates heat pumps installed by a Residential Registered Vendor. The heat pump page checked 3 November 2026 says the program offers residential and commercial rebates, that many rebated units heat efficiently down to −22°F or lower, and that the program rebates only the highest performing units. It also says more than 200,000 heat pumps have been installed in Maine homes and businesses, citing the 2021 Maine New Construction Baseline Assessment.
The residential heat pump rebates page, checked 3 November 2026, lists per outdoor-unit amounts of $3,000 (low income, lifetime cap $9,000), $2,000 (moderate income, cap $6,000), and $1,000 (any income, cap $3,000). Multi-zone units are not rebate-eligible on that table; single-zone units on Efficiency Maine’s list are. Re-check the official page before you apply. The operating-cost assumptions printed on the heat pump page (propane $3.20 per gallon, electricity $0.26 per kWh, heat pump COP 3.15, comparison dated 11 September 2026) are inputs to their calculator, not an installation price.
